Azerbaijan Tourism Board organized a familiarization trip to Azerbaijan for representatives of 12 leading tourism companies from Türkiye.
The familiarization trip aimed to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of Azerbaijan’s tourism potential, key tourism products, and hospitality offerings.
As part of the trip, participants visited Baku’s historical and cultural sites, which are included on the UNESCO World Heritage List, as well as the districts of Shamakhi, Ismayilli, Gabala, and Shaki. During the visits, they explored the country’s cultural heritage, natural tourism resources, tourism infrastructure, and recreational opportunities.
A B2B networking event was also organized as part of the programme. The event brought together representatives of the tourism industries of Türkiye and Azerbaijan for a series of meetings. Discussions focused on opportunities for cooperation in tourism, prospects for mutual partnerships, and the establishment of new business connections.
It should be noted that the number of visitors from Türkiye to Azerbaijan increased by 10.6% in January–May 2026 compared with the same period last year, reaching 191,776.
